For speech pathology clients
What age groups and conditions do you work with?
Briggs Clinical works with adults across speech, language, swallowing and voice conditions including changes following stroke or acquired brain injury, developmental, progressive or non-progressive neurological conditions. NDIS, aged care, private and Medicare-eligible clients are all welcome.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are available across Australia. For Metro Melbourne clients, home-based visits and in-clinic appointments are also available.
How do I make a referral?
Via our online referral form, by email at admin@briggsclinical.com.au, or by uploading an existing referral document.
Do you accept NDIS, Medicare and private clients?
Yes. If you're unsure which funding option applies, get in touch and we can help.
How long does it take to get an appointment?
Urgent swallowing referrals within 1–2 weeks. Routine referrals typically 2–4 weeks depending on availability.
What happens at the first appointment?
An assessment. Nichola will take a full history, carry out a clinical assessment, discuss findings and outline next steps. Reports provided following the appointment.
For providers - clinical monitoring
What's the difference between this and a full swallowing assessment?
Clinical monitoring is a structured screening and triage service, not a diagnostic assessment. It identifies patterns of concern over time. Where monitoring indicates a need for formal assessment, a referral recommendation is made. Participants retain full choice of provider.
How is pricing determined?
Based on house size and support complexity. Pricing will be emailed on request.
Is this service covered by NDIS funding?
No. Clinical monitoring is funded by the provider, not through a participant's NDIS plan. Think of it like staff training or incident management — part of running a safe, compliant service.
Can participants and families still choose their own referral provider?
Yes, always. Recommendations are made on clinical grounds only.
What does a typical monthly review involve?
A structured conversation with a team leader, review of monitoring forms, risk rating for each resident, summary letter and action list. Typically 45–120 minutes depending on house size.
How long is the pilot period?
A structured 3-month foundation pilot for a small number of houses.
